“I am a 33 year old transgender homosexual male living with HIV from Hong Kong, China. I was convicted of a crime that rendered me an aggravated felon, removable and subject to mandatory immigration detention pursuant to immigration laws. Angela Suh was presented with my case at the very last minute before my first trial and was then faced a difficult and challenging case.
The challenges that were faced are as follows: 1) Conviction of an aggravated felony; 2) Transgender and Homosexual; 3) HIV/AIDS Status; 4) Proving I would be persecuted if returned to China, despite not having any experience of persecution due to coming to the United States as a 2 year old immigrant; 5) Locating an expert witness to provide a testimonial for free
Despite all the challenges and the difficulty of my case, Angela Suh immediately set forth to put together an extremely organized, informative application packet which the judge also complemented as the best she’s seen. As the time went by Angela Suh was also faced with the task of locating an expert witness that was willing to provide a testimonial for my case. Angela Suh did not give up even though she was not receiving any positive responses. In the end the witness submitted a written testimonial free of charge. The witness’ credentials also spoke for itself.
Angela Suh at all times her professionalism was impeccable. Angela Suh was direct and straight forward with the difficulty and the challenges that we faced towards my case. Throughout the entire time she did not once give up hope and made it her own personal challenge to defeat the difficulty she was faced with. The ending result is that I was granted Withholding of Removal and given another opportunity to remain in the United States to continue living my life as a free individual regardless of my race, and sexual preference and also be able to continue my medical treatment as an individual living with HIV/AIDS.”
